Analysis and Engineering Practice of Factors Affecting Top-Coal Recovery in a Large Dip Coal Seam

The recovery of top coal in the caving face directly impacts efficiency mining resources. geological conditions and parameters are well known to be significant influences on coal. This study focused 9-301 working face, which is located a thick seam with large dip angle. seam’s angle, direction, mode interval were analyzed using PFC2D simulation. Field trials also carried out. results numerical calculations show that clearly affected by decreasing as angle increased. Mining from bottom along beneficial improve recovery. top-coal multicycle-sequence method higher than when single-sequence single-interval modes. “one cutting one caving” (coal 0.8 m) was under two cuttings 1.6 m). During field trials, different intervals modes measured. optimal measurements consistent simulation results. this can help guide additional research for optimizing seams angles.
